Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters will be performing in Calgary on October 23 at Scotiabank Saddledome. The internationally acclaimed rock band is touring in support of their most recent and ninth studio album, 2017’s Concrete and Gold. It’s their second number one album in the United States. The multi-Grammy Award winning Foo Fighters was founded and is fronted by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, who started the band after the death of Kurt Cobain.

Stone Temple Pilots

The San Diego rock band is playing the Grey Eagle Event Centre in Calgary on October 27. They rose to fame in the early 1990s, their sound experimenting with grunge, psychedelic rock, and classic rock, with hits like “Plush” and “Creep.” Jeff Gutt has taken on lead vocals in replace of the late original frontman Scott Weiland and his first replacement, the late Chester Bennington. The band’s newest album, STP, was released late last year, to positive reviews.

Spruce Meadows Oktoberfest Tournament

Taking place from October 10 to 14 at the Spruce Meadows Equi-Plex, one of the world’s leading horse sport venues, the Oktoberfest Tournament will feature horse jumpers in competition, jumping over heights ranging from 0.80m to 1.40m. This free, family-friendly event will also offer a food concession.
